Lone Buffalo believe that giving our students responsibility from a young age develops leadership skills and accountability, as well as generates new ideas for our programs.

Students play an important role in the running of the Lone Buffalo project and we have student movie directors and football coaches among the students.  Former students now studying at university regularly return to give motivational talks to current students, while each class elects classroom representatives and librarians.  The class representatives discuss issues with their classmates before the quarterly student council meeting.  The student council review progress, discusses concerns and puts forward ideas to improve our project.  These are then discussed among the Lone Buffalo Directors and actioned, where appropriate.

Some of the ideas adopted from the student council include more games and songs in lessons, students presenting activities to their classmates and movie-based lessons.
