Lone Buffalo encourage creativity through film-making and photography projects.  Students have produced more than 20 short films, some of which have been featured at Vientianale, the Lao National Film Festival.  Lone Buffalo student productions have also won awards at International student film events.

The Lone Buffalo associated movie On Safer Ground generated international awareness of the tragic unexploded ordnance problem in Laos.  Inspired by this, several student films have subsequently tackled the issue of UXO.

Five Lone Buffalo students have completed an intensive film making course and now direct our short films. These directors are supported by a team of student actors, editors, sound and camera crew who in turn encourage new students to become involved in film making. Our students have also planned and presented their own ‘introduction to film making’ workshop for students from the US Embassy’s community centre in the capital.

Lone Buffalo has hosted photography workshops, with many students using a camera for the first time. After completing the workshop, students can borrow cameras to further develop their skills.

We thank @My Library in Luang Prabang for their support in developing young film makers and photographers in Phonsavan.

You can watch all Lone Buffalo student productions on our Vimeo and YouTube channel.
