EDUCATING YOUNG PEOPLE IN LAOS, ONE OF THE WORLD'S LEAST DEVELOPED NATIONS, AND HELPING THEM TO A BETTER FUTURE.
This is a short film that tells the Lone Buffalo story. Content shot by Lone Buffalo students / Guy Pakeman.
WHAT WE DO
Lone Buffalo is a free English project that benefits more than 200 young people living in rural Laos. We teach five levels of English using a combination of trained local teachers and professional western volunteers.

Lone Buffalo create a unique environment where boys and girls from different ethnic backgrounds can develop personal skills and build self-confidence by participating in English study, sport and creative skills programmes. Most students are from poor backgrounds but Lone Buffalo believe they should have the same chance as others to benefit from opportunities being created in a developing nation.

The ability to speak English makes a huge difference to young peoples’ futures in Laos. Lone Buffalo is committed to improving the lives of young people living in one of the world's most heavily bombed places.

As one young student said simply, ‘English is my future’.
